Narcan Awareness Campaign
EL Dorado Opioid Coalition partners with the Sierra Harm Reduction Coalition to create a NARCAN Awareness Campaign.
The campaign was inspired by comprehensive research the coalition completed pinpointing distribution points of NARCAN in the county.
We discovered that not enough stakeholders carry or distribute the device, and there was a general lack of education about the importance of NARCAN amongst community members.

NARCAN® Nasal Spray, the first nasal formulation of naloxone to be FDA approved for the treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose.
The device requires no assembly and is easy to use. Each kit comes with two (4mg) doses of naloxone.
NARCAN® works to reverse the effects of opiates directly on the brain. NARCAN forces the opiate molecules off of the opioid receptors, reversing the effects of an overdose.
NARCAN® Nasal Spray is not a substitute for emergency medical care. When you discover a person experiencing an overdose, immediately call 911 for help even if the person wakes up.
